A Work-package Owner is the individual responsible for overseeing a specific work-package within a project.

They are accountable for defining the scope, coordinating activities, and ensuring the successful completion of their assigned work segment. The Work-package Owner acts as the main point of contact for their work package, ensuring it aligns with project objectives, quality standards, and deadlines. 

Key Tasks of a Work-package Owner:

1. Define Work-package Scope:

  • Clearly outline the scope, objectives, and deliverables for their work package. 
  • Ensure scope aligns with the overall project plan. 

3. Coordinate and Manage Resources:

  • Allocate resources (personnel, equipment, materials) needed to complete the work. 
  • Monitor resource utilization and availability. 

5. Monitor Progress and Performance:

  • Track progress against schedule and budget. 
  • Report on performance, milestones, and any issues.

7. Ensure Quality Standards:

  • Oversee quality control and assurance activities.
  • Verify that deliverables meet the required standards.

9. Deliverables and Documentation:

  • Ensure all deliverables are completed and documented properly. 
  • Facilitate handover and close-out activities for the work package.
